The first stop that we make after leaving the airport in Tampa, Florida is just over the causeway at the Bahama Breeze restaurant courtesy of our Uber driver Fergie.Speaking of Fergie here is what he ordered off of Breeze's excellent menu.
Here is a shot from our table out on the patio looking back towards the causeway.Spike diving into his Cuban Sandwich. Here is Joebo enjoying a good cigar out on the patio. Just off of the plane. This is what I ordered to eat. It was some kind of shrimp bowl. I believe that S. B. ordered something similar. One of the bartenders at the Breeze made a mistake drink. Our waiter brought it out to us to enjoy for free. Now why would he bring it to us? This was one of our waitresses at the Breeze. Our waiter's shift was over so he left. Here she is with Party Joebo. You will also see this pic in the Party Joe Bo Gallery. After we checked into our hotel In Clearwater Beach we headed over to Shephard's and their Tiki Bar. We were practically staying across the street. This is one of the new hotels near Shephard's that was not there last year. Here we are at Shephard's Tiki Bar out on their deck near the water. This band was New Divide. They were very good. Shephard's has bands out there day and night weahter permitting.Another shot out on the deck at Shephard's. Go to our MEDIA page from the HOME page to see a short clip of the band New Divide. The next two pics were taken of the crowd dancing out on the deck to New Divide.
Also go to the MEDIA page to see a clip of S. B. dancing solo to the music. Shephard's Tiki Bar dancers. We made our way down the street to Frenchy's Rockaway Grille on the Beach for lunch.
Here is Swish enjoying one of their fantastic Bloody Mary's.This is what I had for lunch. It is the very popular fried Walleye basket.I just happened to catch a young lady out on the beach in a bikini. Remember this was back at the end of February.Another picture from our table looking out at the beach. from Frenchy's out on the patio. These were the tables that we were sitting at. What a view.
We had great weather the entire time that we were down there. Here are S. B., and R. B. checking out the menu. Chances are R. B. had a Gyro.
Tommy's Tiki Hut on the beach behind the Hilton in Clearwater Beach has now become one of our must beach bars to frequent when we are in Florida. This is what the Pina Coladas at Tommy's look like. They are delicious. They have a full bar, and food available. Here is a pic of the sunset that we took from a restaurant called Post Corner Pizza. It is near the Magnuson Hotel where we stayed before when it was the Red Roof Inn.
Fergie recommends the Gyro here.Walking down Gulfview Blvd we ran into Hulk Hogan or a statue that resembled him. R. B. had his car down in Florida this year. S. B.'s cousin lives in St. Petersburg. R. B. drove S. B. down to see her. I went along for the ride. Here we are waiting for a draw bridge to undraw! Here is the high rise where S.B.'s cousin lives. We finally made it over the bridge. Aafter we dropped S. B. off at his cousin's high rise we saw this amusing speed limit sign. R. B. and I headed towards Johns Pass, but we had to make a stop at Sloppy Joe's on the way for Lunch. We were seated at the bar out on the deck, and they had this hammer head shark starring down at us from the rafters.Being at Sloppy Joe's, and since my name is Joe, I just had to have The Big Sloppy,R. B. is not a Joe, but he also had The Big Sloppy. It wasn't as filling as it looked. Besides that I had no breakfast. Here is a Specialty Drink that Joe's has. We didn't get one because we already had drinks. I don't know what was in it, but it comes in a container shaped like a coconut! After Sloppy Joe's we made it to Johns Pass. The first thing we did was find the shop that sells Goat Milk Soap. A friend of mine turned me on to this. Very refreshing and good for my skin. We found the store and I bought a bunch. We then made a bee line for Hooters. It is open to the outside and water. It is one of the best ones that we have been too. Here is R. B. sitting in front of one of Hooters' World's Biggest Drumsticks.S..B.'s cousin and her husband brought him back to Hooter's to join us. Here he is driniking his signature "Pinkie Up"!Saw this sign on the wall as we were walking up the steps to Hooters. I guess it was For Sale.We are on our way to Bonita Springs. R. B. stayed there for most of the month of March in a high rise condo. The owner let him in early do he invited S. B. and I to spend a couple of days before we left Florida. The next 3 pics are those of the bridge that we had to cross to get there. Quite an engineering accomplishment. The BRIDGE The BRIDGEWe drove past the Ringling Brothers Circus headquarters. As far as I know they are no longer operating. The next four pictures are that of the luxurious high rise condo where S. B. and I stayed for a couple of days with R. B.. LIVING ROOMONE OF THE BATHROOMS.
THERE WERE TWO.THE SPACIOUS KITCHENWe don't know who this guy was. He just said that he was stopping by to borrow some booze for a party.
(It was R. B. in his biker outfit) A view of the pool from our balcony. The balcony was screened in so the next two pics will not be as clear as the others. Off in the distance was the Hyatt Regency Hotel. R. B. drove us over there to see the place. This is a view of the courtyard behind the Hyatt. It looked more amazing in person.
Taj Mahalish! And of course they had a BAR back there also.
And of course S. B. had to have a "Pinkie Up." This was a Bloody Mary! There are S. B. and R. B. walking up ahead of me on this wooded walkway that goes nowhere. When we got to the end, we turned around and walked back. Very scenic though! Yes, that is a golf green out on the water. You can try your hand at hitting it as the Pros do on the 17th at Sawgrass. And as we were leaving the area we came across these two important signs near the water.
Something about Alligators. Whatever, we got the heck out of there. R. B. took us to a few other bar/restaurants in Bonita Springs. This place was near the water.
Go to our MEDIA page to see another pic from this area on the Party JoeBo Geezer Gallery. There is a story behind this pic. We were at a place called Coconut Jacks.
They had a special on wine so we tried some. S. B. told R. B. to order Pinot Noir. He didn't like it. He ended up getting Pinot Grigio. Of course there is more to the story. Ask him!R. B. had to drive S. B. and I to the Ft. Lauderdale airport. On our way out in the garage of the condo we saw an old Cadillac that was mint.
You will see this pic again in the Parrty Joebo Gallery. This Cadillac was spotless. We don't know what year it was, but it was a collector's item for sure. Sweet!
