GEEZERS NITE OUT JOHNNY J'S PUB & GRILLE SPRINGFIELD, OH JANUARY 15, 2014S. B.'S "Dirty Martini!" The Birthday Boy!This was my (JOEBO) Chocolate Martini. Wednesdays are $3 Martini Nites at Johnny J's.Here is S. B. with the B-Day card that I got him. It has a Margarita on the front, and it plays that old instrumental "Tequila!"Well, it wasn't Margarita Nite at JJ's, but it was Martini Nite so here is S. B. enjoying one of the martinis bought for him!And here is S. B. talking to one of his Springfield classmates, JOHN MACAROLLI or something like that. We see him most of the tiem when we go to Johnny J's.Here is our Entertainment director R. B. enjoying his large mug of his fave brew Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale. We understand he wasn't smiling during that night after he arrived home!

GEEZERS NITE OUT FAT TUESDAY LEGENDS SPORTS PUB IN GREEN MARCH 4, 2014Here are the beads that we started off with for Mardi Gras. Here we have two of the Bartenders for the evening, NIKI on the left, and The Beacons Best #1 Bartender TRICIA. S. B. starting off with a Guinness before he ordered his Jambalaya a Special on the menu this nite.R. B. decided to try some also and I went along with them. And here is S. B. finally putting down his Guinness for some Jambalaya. This is my bowl of Jambalaya. It is a good thing that I took this picture because i couldn't see what was in it at the bar. It was OK. There are all kinds of different recipes. S. B. and I added hot sauce.BILLY BOB waved the Jambalaya, and tried the Giant Fish sandwich. Trouble is, he thought this one was caught before it grew up!Here is another picture of NIKI behind the bar!And here is TRICIA again. OK, S. B. is the first one to try the Mask that I brought with me. My Alfred Hitchcock moment. Loved the Mask. and althought she is allergic to the fabric in them, TRICIA even agreed to try the Mask on for us!Here are the beads that we ended up with at the end of the evening.

B.'s "Down" and Dirty Martini!This is a Chocolate Martini that SARAH made for me.Here is DRUMSTIR reliving his oldies days by drinking a "Purple Haze" Martini.It is 1/2 Price Appetizers at JJ's until 9:00 PM on Wednesdays. This is the most popular Chicken Tenders, (Broiled version).Here are the "Fried" Chicken Tenders that S. B., above all people, ordered!And here is the most questionable item on the appetizer list. They are called "Reuben Rolls"! R. B. orders them, but he never eats them. He offers them to all the Geezers who are there who don't like them!Here is The FORESTER, who is a relatively new member of the GNO crew. He knows most of us, but he lived in Columbus for quite a few years. SARAH says: "Tha Tha That's All Folks!"
GEEZERS NITE OUT THE GRILLE ON WATERLOO MARCH 26, 2014This is NATALIE. She was our Bartender for the evening. JACKIE was there when we first arrived working the day shift.We just happened to schedule our Geezers Nite Out on the nite that the Labatt's Blue Light Girls were making an appearance. Here is SPIKE with one of them. Here we have S. B. with two of the lovely Labatt's Blue Light girls. The girls were passing out free sample bottles of Labatt's Blue Light. They were also giving away bottle openers, and beer bottle coolers. Here are S. B. and BILLY BOB who were fortunate enough to receive free T-Shirts. They didn't have any to fit SPIKE or Me (JOEBO). And here is one of those infamous bottles of Labatt's Blue Light beer.I caught BILLY BOB and one of the girls exchanging pleasantries.This is one of the items on The Grille's excellent menu. It is a Chicken Caesar Wrap. This is what S. B. ordered to eat.Surprising as it may seem DRUMSTIR tried one of the wraps that S. B. ordered and.....He Liked It!The BUFFALO BALLS are BACK. This was a fave item of the customers at RUSS's Scorchers many years ago. But they disappeared from the menu as new businesses took over the building. But THE BALLS ARE BACK!

JENNY, BRITTANY, and KAITLYNN.Here is CHARLIE, and one of the waitresse that he calls "The Midget"!CHARLIE (L) with his good friend from The Geezers S. B. (Dougie)The Geezers at the bar, from L-R, BILLY BOB, SPIKE, and S. B. This is the chocolate martini that BRITTANY made for me. On Wednesdays until 9:00 drinks are 1/2 Price. It was Mavelous!This is the Chicken Salad from The Firehouse menu. Both S. B. and BILLY BOB ordered them.This is a little hard to explain. On the menu are several Hoagie iitems. This is supposed to be a Ham and Egg Hoagie with fries and cole slaw piled high on it. I had them make it into a Wrap with fries and slaw on the side. It was Mavelous! too!

GEEZERS NITE OUT JOHNNY J'S SPRINGFIELD APRIL 9, 2014It was $3 Martini Nite at JJ's! this is a Chocolate Martini. They are mavelous! Here are two of our bartenders. MARVIN and SARAH. We even talked The FORESTER (John) inot trying one. He ordered a Root Beer Float Martini. There were a number of GEEZERS who either called off or were no shows on this Wedesday nite. It was a crowded nite and the Geezers who were got split up somewhat. Here is a couple who joined us at the open seats. Wednesdays at JJ's is half off Appetizers nite. Here are my grilled Chicken Tenders. I also ordered the Fried Pickles from JJ's Appetizer Menu.When I arrived at JJ's the Indinas were finishing up the second game of a double header. After that we watched the Cavaliers beat the Detroit Pistons. It was a must win. At one point in the 2nd quarter the cavs were leading by 32 points. Here is a Butterscotch Martini that the lady sitting at our table ordered. She talked bartender Marvin into filling the rim with whipped cream. And here is SARAH again. she was making my martinis. she is also a model, but I think she think she resembles the late AMY WINEHOUSE!
GEEZERS NITE OUT WINKING LIZARD COPLEY/MONTROSE APRIL 16, 2014Here is one of our bartenders MANDY. We have gotten to know her from our meetings there since the Opening Day on April 17, 2013. This is KATE. She was one of the other bartenders. She worked during the day so awhile after MANDY arrived she left for the evening. This is the Chicken Salad that S. B. (Dougie) ordered to eat at the Lizard. Here is The FORESTER'S choice to eat for the evening. It was the Black & Blue Burger.BILLY BOB had the Wednesday Nite Special, 1/2 Slab of Ribs.R. B. had his all time fave of a Guyro.Here is the dreaded Chocolate Martini that MANDY made for me. It was deliscious, but it wasn't kind to me during the nite. This is another drink that MANDY made for me in a Special way. It is merely Vodka on The Rocks, but she loads it with fruit! This is the Mascot at the Winking Lizard in Copley, BRUTUS. It is actually an Iguana, and every Winking Lizard has one.

GEEZERS NITE OUT CINCO DE MAYO 05/05/14 LEGENDS SPORTS PUB & GRILLE - GREENLegends has been having a Special Party on Cinco de Mayo regardles on what day May 5 falls on for as long as I can remember. On Monday they had Free Chips and Salsa and 99 cent Margaritas. What more do you need.This was our bartender for the evening, BRITTANY. We don't know her that well, but she went alogn with whatever we wanted. Almost! Of course we missed Beacons Best #1 Bartender, TRICIA.Here is S. B. and his new buddy/Geezer. It was unfortunate that this guy came in and sat next to him because he was talking a mile a minute. S. B. does not look real happy in this pic.Enjoying the evening, and their seating placement, are R. B in the background and The Forester in the checkered shirt.Legends has a Special every day during the week. On this Monday the item was the Bulldog Burger which was voted Best Burger by the Beacons Best Survey. It is regularly $6.99 any day other than Monday, but on Cinco de Mayo is was $3.99. JOEBO, SPIKE, and THE FORESTER all ordered one. We were watching the Cleveland Indinas baseball game while at Legends. this pic from TV is of MIKE AVILES. It was tied 0-0 in the 7th inning and there was a questionable call on Micheal Brantley which was Challeneged. He was SAFE. Indians lost to the Twins 1-0. Closer AXFORD blew it. Cleveland Indians games are broadcast on STO a FOX affiliate. Their roving reporter is a young lady by the name of KATIE WITHAM. Here she is interviewing a Cleveland Big Wig in a lodge.Here is KATIE again with a during the interview. Take a look at these pictures, then go back to the picture of bartender BRITTANY. We think that she is our celebrity- look-a-like of the nite. And last but not least, this is a picture of oen of the hard working waitresses at Legends. I didn't want to bother her for a picture because she was so busy, but she had an iPad fastened to her wrist with velcro. She was nice enough to let me take a picture.
GEEZERS NITE OUT RAY'S PLACE - FAIRLAWN MAY 14, 2014Heeeeere's CHARLIE! What? Isn't it suppsoed to be RAY? Here is the owner of RAY'S. He is posing with one of his biggest fans, and one of our friends, KRISKO. She loved Ray's in Kent for as long as she has been in Akron from Buffalo, NY. OK, this was our bartender at Ray's for the evening SHAUN. He told us that a lot of people have told him that he looks like Bill Clinton. What do you think? This is our Foreign Geezer BUDDMANN, Bud Dulin. He is living in Germany with his wife , but he mainatins his American citizenship. The reason for his trips back home. Bud and I played in a band together in Kent, Ohio back in the 60's. Here we have some of the Geezers and friends enjoying the atmospher at Ray's Place. I mean, after all, they were breathing.And here we have two of the Geezers who have absolutely nothing in common. On the Left is S. B. (Dougie). On the right is BUDDMANN again. They have different political views, but they are both Bass Guitar players.Here we have S. B. and BUDDMANN conversing with another one of our friends, BETTY. She has been friends with KRISKO since she moved to Akron. S.B. having a sip of the Stout beer that he ordered at Ray's. They have quite a selection of domestic and foreign beers. This was our first time there and they have only been open for three weeks. Here our two of our very good friends KRISKO on the right, and BETTY. They are good friends who we met through our dear departed friend DAN POWELL.DRUMSTIR enjoying one of Ray's burgers. They are famous for those. But he said: "It was OK!"And heeeeere's JOHNNY. One fo our Florida Snowbirds, FERGIE (John Ferguson). He was down in Florida from before Christmas until just a week or so ago.Ray's Place has a great menu and excellent food. This is a pic of BUDDMANN'S Pulled Pork sandwich. As you can see it is a generous portion. This is waht is left of my (JOEBO) Corned Beef sandwich and it was loaded with corned beef.This is an atrocious facsimle of a Cheeseburger. It looks somethign like the Leaning Tower of Pizza, but it is an actual burger on Ray's menu. It is called the Mo-Fo Burger, and looking at it I would say it is one Big Mo-Fo!
GEEZERS NITE OUT THE GALAXY PATIO PARTY MAY 28, 2014Geezers "Nite" Out actually started on this day in the afternoon at The Grille on Waterloo. JIMBO FISH was in town for his brother's brain surgery, and also it was his Birthday. From L-R JIMBO, JOEBO, and SPIKE. The Galaxy next! Here were our bartenders at The Galaxy, BECCA, and JEROD. (Not that one) There was a threat of rain on the Patio, but it never happened while we were there. Here is SPIKE (Swish). We were celebrating his B-Day also which was actually on May 18th. I WON! I WON! I won da money!Some of us gave SPIKE a B-Day card with Ohio Instant lottery tickets in it. He had No Luck until he scratched off S. B. (Dougie's) tickets coming out a $20 Winner!S.B.smoking one of the cigars that I gave him, that he gave me (JOEBO) a box of for my B-Day back in September 2013. And I believe he gave them to me at The Galaxy. Go Figure!A picture of a few people out on the Patio at The Galaxy. The patio is open daily during the Spring & Summer, but on Wednesdays they have the Patio Party with Live Music along with radio station WONE.Here is S. Here is the Birthday Boy with Hi Boss R. B., and some of the other Geezers. BIG D is working a temporary job with Goodyear. He has retired numerous times, but the last time he left he said: I'll Be Bach!" This is the way this picture was supposed to look with (L-R) BIG DADDY, SPIKE, and S, B. This is the way that the picture ended up looking like after the three wise guys from the previous picture decided to act stupid. (And Scary)Here is the Ohio Instant Lottery ticket that I (JOEBO) bought for BIG D along with a musical card that played the Chicken Dance. Naturally it was a LOSER!Here is one of the Birthday Boys for the evening. He did not volunteer which one it was. But it had to be OLD! The other Birthday Boy, FERGIE. We gave him cards and Instant Lottery Tickets. I think he won $15 off of SPIKE'S tickets.Here is MY Dirty Martini. I told them I wanted a Dirty Martini without the "Dirty"!This is the Side Salad that I ordered with my Grilled Chicken Tenders. Here are two of the Grilled Chicken Tenders. They are actually an appetizer, and they are 1/2 price on Wednesdays until 9:00 PM.Here we have R. B. (Garo). He is holding a bug with beer still in it. His actual drink is right in front of him. But let's just say that FERGIE left abotu a third of a glass full, and out of habit he just reached for it. He will drink no beer before it's time! Johnny J's is having a golf outing on Sunday, July 27th. It is a Golf Scramble event. The Geezers are considering signing up to play.

GEEZERS NITE OUT THE GALAXY PATIO PARTY JUNE 25, 2014 Here are our bartenders for the evening out at the Patio Bar, BECCA (L), and AMY. We know Amy from her nights at the Tap House, now The Grille on Waterloo.S. B. smoking the $12 cigar that I gave him. this is one place that we can smoke cigars since it is outdoors. Some outdoor bars do not allow it. C'Mon Man!And I also gave a cigar to SPIKE. We were going to have a card game outside on June 17, but it was too hot. These cigars are leftovers from that nite. Here is another pic of AMY. She was serving me a beverage, and I took this pic. She must have blinked right at that moment. S. B. sipping on his signature Martini at the Galaxy Patio Bar. In the background you will see a gray haired gentleman who we thought looked like Fergie.Picture of his Martini. It is in a unique martini glass.And isn't this cute? It just so happened (They said) that they wore the same color golf shirts and shorts.S.
