My Trip To Texas To Attend The OHIO STATE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME!  J.Bo
This page was last updated: January 26, 2015
Afriend of S. B. and me (J.Bo),
Mardi Allen, lives in Texas. She is a Big Ohio State fan. When they beat Alabama they could go to the Championship game, and she she wanted to go. She she asked me and I went.
We are both big football fans This is picture of Denver Airport and new Hotel from bar.

I flew into DFW in Dallas where the game was to be played. On the very next day
The Ohio State University
football team arrived.
At the time no one knew what
kind of game OSU would play. One of the places Mardi took me was to Whataburger fast food restuarant. They are Big in Texas just like everything
else. The next place that we went
to was Mardi's favorite haunt,
Walmart. The one back in Akron sells all different team apparel.
This is what they sell in
Texas.
We went to a sports bar that
Mardi and her buddies frequent on football Sundays, called Frankie's, for a bite to eat. It was a Saturday. And to
my amazement they had a
special until 2:30 in the afternoon of a Big Big Breakfast. Had to have it!
This is the Big Big Breakfast!
Puts Mickey D's to shame.
And NO, I didn't eat it all. Here is Mardi coming down the steps of her home with E-Ticket in hand for the Big Game.Mardi modeling her Ohio State
sports attire. This was my ride to the game.
Mardi's sports car. It was
Z very good ride.Mardi's right hand with a hand
still on the wheel. She painstakingly put OSU nail
decorations on her fingernails.
Pic is a little blurred because
we were driving.OK, we had a parking ticket. But finding the lot was a fiasco. We had a couple GPS's
running, but the one road that
we were to turn down to get
to the lot was BLOCKED with
yellow saw horses. After many left and right turns we
found it.
And here is AT&T Stadium in
all of it's glory where the game
was to be played.
The parking lot ended up being
in walking distance to the
stadium. Here I am in all my glory, in front of the stadium.Mardi in front of AT&T Stadium
getting ready to enter the
Championship Tailgate Party Speaking of Tailgate Party this
was the way you entered if
you were going to the game.
They waved a wand around
your body and inspected bags. Women could not have
purses. Mardi had a baggie
inside a Walmart bag. This is
where they did the pre scanning. We ran into Brutus entering
the Tailgate area. But I only
got the back of his head. What
a Nut!Behind Brutus was the Ohio
State Marching Band. They were all looking very stoic! The Championship Trophy was on dispaly in the tailgate area. You had to stand in a
long line to get a close up look.
We did not see the Doctor
Pepper vendor anywhere in
sight. I snapped this picture
from an opening in the crowd.Speaking of The Crowd, here
is a quick shot I took in only one area of the tailgate
area near the performance
stage. We did catch the first number
by the Zach Brown Band.
They played The Devil number
which necessitated very fast
guitar and violin playing.
It was very cold and windy.
Don't know how they did it. We couldn't help but noticing
this Oregon fan couple. And
Mardi couldn't help, but ask
them to take a picture with them. They obliged, but I
wonder if they would have
done so after the game. On our way into the stadium we walked passed these pillars that had an Ohio State
Flag on it. Mardi wanted me to take a pic of her doin' the "O"!And here is AT&T Stadium close up and personal. It was
a beautiful stadium inside. As we entered the seating area we noticed the picture
of the Championship Trophy
on the scorebaord.A shot of the field on our way
to our seats.Brian Bosworth and Jim Tressel were on the field before that game, and
iinterviewed, which was
broadcast on the Jumbotron!Mardi and I had one of the
OSU fans in our section take
our picture standing in front of our seats with the field in the
background. Pic of Mardi with the stadium field and crowd in the
background.An American Flag was draped
over the field before the start
of the gmae in anticipation of
the singing of the National
Anthem.Good picture of the crowd
before the game started.A shot of the field before the
game while the teams were warming up.Another shot of the field before the game. The Ohio State logo proudly
displayed on the Jumbotron.A good shot of the whole
stadium from our seats. #15 EZEKIEL ELLIOTT

Zeke ran 36 Times for 246 Yards. He gained 6.8 Yards Per Cary, and scored 4 TD's.
ZEKE 42 Oregon 20
The National Anthem was sung by Lady Antebellum.Coin Flip at game. The coin flip was won by Oregon and they took the ball.
They took the ball all the way down the field and scored on
their first drive and scored a
TD. 7-0 Oregon.
That is the last time that they were ahead.Whenever Ohio State would score the lights surrounding the stadium would flash bright red.
It is hard to get the effect from
these pictures.More flashing lights. More
OSU scoring.Ohio State near the Oregon end zone. Oregon could not keep them down for long.I believe that OSU scored on
this play or the next. Piece of
cake.Mardi was really getting into the game. She picked up on
other OSU fans in our section
who were doing what she is doing on third down.
Oregon was 2 for 12 on third
down.I gave my camera to an OSU fan upon his request and this is how it turned out. After the clock wound down to 00.00 Gold Confetti came
shooting out of cannons from
the four corners of the end
zone.
People asked why not scarlet and gray? Well the gold matches the Championship
Trophy color that OSU won. This is what the field looked
like after the confetti celebaration. I'm glad that I
didn't have to clean this up.Another picture of Mardi and I
that a professional photographer took with my camera. She also took this one which
I think is the best one of Mardi. OSU Head Coach Urban Meyer
being interviewed after the
game which was shown on the Jumbotron along with a
video tribute. The Attendance for the game
was stated as 85,689 .
The capacity is 80,000. So
the rest of the fans had to
have standing room tickets. We saw a table of sports reporters from ESPN in the
corner of our end zone
amidst all of the confetti.Urban Meyer hoisting the
NCAA Championship Trophy
won by the Ohio State Buckeyes. On The Border is a popular
Mexican Restaurant chain in Texas. Mardi and I went there
for some Mexican food the day after the game. My choice from the Menu.
A beef burrito, with fried rice, and refried beans.
It was excellent. This was Mardi's choice. I believe it was Fajita Quesadillas with Steak. Looked like a good choice.
I flew into Texas at DFW on
Frontier Airlines. It was a very harrowing experience with a long delay in Denver.
I flew home via Dallas Love Field where President John F. Kennedy landed on that fateful day. I flew on Delta
Airlines to Atlanta. It was one of the best connecting flights ever.
