SHAGG 'O DADDY IS SATCHMO AT OHARA'S-
While in Ft. Lauderdale, FL Drumstir and Joebo stopped in at OHARA'S  Blues & Jazz Club. Drumstir had been there before with his sister Patty a few weeks earlier, and they saw a hot lady on the electric violin. The bartender was a pleasant fellow by the name of Troy Anderson. It was a small bar at the front of the building. There was another larger bar in the back. There was jazz music coming from speakers mounted on the walls. We should have know what was in store for us. We saw an old trumpet lying on one of the tables near the bar. We told Troy that we used to play in bands, and he asked us what kind of music we played.
When we told him we played Oldies Rock 'N Roll he kidded that he was too deep for us. But then he made sure everyone was served at the bar, and he went over and grabbed his trumpet, and put on a Louis Armstrong album. He kept the volume at a minimum, and he began to sing along with Satchmo. Troy said that he goes by the stage name of Shagg 'O Daddy. He sounded like the reincarnation of Satchmo as he sang along with the music. Then during the bridge he raised the trumpet and belted out terrific solos. This was in the middle of the afternoon, and we didn't expect anything quite like this. Shagg stood by the door singing and playing drawing passer by's interest. There was an outside patio, and he went out there to serve a couple of customers, and put his talents on display for everyone to hear. It was a rare treat, and a highlight of our trip. Shagg was kind enough to let us take a couple of pictures which we have posted below.  We want to thank Troy for the enjoyable, and entertaining afternoon. We advise anyone who might be going to the Ft. Lauderdale area in the future to stop in at OHARA'S Blues & Jazz Club and see Troy...er....Shagg 'O Daddy! Tell him The Geezers said Hello!
