GEEZERS AT OPENING DAY 2009
This is a picture from one of Johnny Malloy's 100" Plazma TV's of how it looked up in Cleveland for Opening Day 2009. But the Geezers weren't there. Did they make the "Right Call" or what? The game between the Cleveland Indians and the Toronto Blue Jays was postponed for 3 Hours and 47 Minutes, but they eventually did finish the game and the Tribe lost. Rumor has it that they will no longer sell beer at Progressive Field since they Lost the Opener!!!
Due to the weather forecast for April 10th The Geezers decided to forgo the trip to Cleveland and watch the game at Johnny Malloy's Sports Pub near Chapel Hill.  Below are some pictures taken there.
This was our bartender for most of the day, Lisa. She was camera shy, but she still let me take a picture of her. Four of them to be exact! Here is Kim, another one of our bartenders for the day. We go way back with Kim to a few different bars. Here is Jen, the day bartender. She was on duty when we first arrived. She spilled a beer on us and broke the glass for our first drinks of the day. "Welcome to Johnny Malloy's" someone said!Dougie, and Garo smiling because they weren't sitting up in Cleveland in the rain! From L-R Swish, and Rob. Rob is the young Swish!(l-r) Drumstir and Mr. Lobber thinking, another Rain Delay? Baseball in Cleveland! What a hoot! Another pic of our bartender, Lisa. Why was she wearing a Cavs shirt? We didn't ask. They are winners! And among the people in the crowd at Malloys' we saw our friend, and former bartender at Scorchers, Vanessa. She was striking her signature pose!We don't know who these lovely young ladies were, but they sure weren't camera shy. The pink ears were for Easter. This was Good Friday?A familiar picture of the field on Opening Day in Clevleland. And we didn't even have to drive all the way up there to take it!I bet we look cool on TV with our matching ponchos and umbrella! All was not lost when the game went into a Rain Delay. Malloy's had The Masters on every other TV. This umpire walks into a bar.....They just had to get Slider on TV. Little did he know that there was a Hot Dog with Mustard lurking behind him.Hey Sam did you see that play about three hours ago? No, it was YOUR idea to come to the game.......
