It was not all baseball in Arizona. The scenery and mountains were breathtaking. We will show you some of that in the next Photo Gallery. But there were also some excellent restaurants in Goodyear, and Tucson. After all we "Gotta Eat"! Below are some pictures from our visits to some of these.
This is the best Mexican restaurant in Goodyear, AZ. They have a stand at the Goodyear Ballpark. They come highly recommended by the Cleveladn Indians organization.Enjoying their meal at Raul & Theresa's are from L-R Buffalo Bob, Lynda, and Warren. I am taking the pic. Raul & Theresa's!Mimi's Cafe in Goodyear just down the street from the Comfort Inn where Joebo and Buffalo stayed Teusday night after the ballgame. Here is Buffalo out in front of Mimi's where he and Joebo enjoyed a great breakfast. The story goes that the owner named it after a French lady he met one night during the war never to see her again. A restaurant with an unusual name that Joebo and Buffalo encountered on their jaunt to Mimi's.And here are the Three Bears out in front of the Black Bear Diner.A sign in on the otufield home run fence adveritsing a familiar restaurant which I never had a chance to visit. A relatively new franchise called the Tilted Kilt in Peoria which I also never had a chance to visit. I sure had a hard time gettign all fo the girls to come outside to pose for this pic! There is one also in Clearwater, Florida where the Geezers visit every year. However, I did get a chance to meet a couple of the lovely young ladies from the Tilted Kilt who were patrolling the concourse at the stadium for customers. They said that with our ticket stubs we could get a Margarita for 1 Cent if we came in after the game. Didn't make it.....Again!!!Buffalo, Jim Bob, and Warren in front of a great sports bar, and brewhouse in Tucson called BJ's. They also brew their own beer which was availble with some domestic favorites.A strikign mural on one of the walls. The place was laid out!Soem split screen action at the bar at BJ's!Here is Warren, Jimb Bob, and Buffalo posing with our waitress at BJ's. She was very friendly and efficient, and she made out stay enjoyable. The sign at an upscale resturant that we visited on our last night in Tucson. The front of the Claim Jumper , and some of our group entering. Here are, from L-R, Jim Bob, Buffalo Bob, Joe Buz, Warren, Bunny, and Lynda seated at a booth in the Claim Jumper. I had the small order of Spaghetti & Meatball which was excellent. On our way to our last Indians spring training game agaisnt the Arizona Diamondbacks at Tucson Electric Park we stopped at a place called Red Robbin for lunchIt was an interesting place withan unusual decor. Here is a pic of Me, Warren, Jim Bob, and Buffalo seated at a booth. A lady was nice enough to volunteer to t ake a pic of us together and give me a break. The burgers were fantastic. I had never heard of the place before this.Buffalo and Jim Bob in front of a stand at Tucson Electric Park.I took this picture of a Mexican Restaurant stand at the ballpark because it had the same name of a place on Waterloo Rd years ago that now houses Scrochers. No, I didn't have a Desert Dog!
